Krystal Stroud (she/her/hers) is a communications director and leader from Denton, Texas, with a B.A. in English from the University of North Texas and an M.S. in Strategic Communications with a specialization in nonprofits from Purdue University. Her life experience coupled with her dedication to unlearning systemic oppression informs her unique ability to communicate complex ideas with great compassion and clarity. Krystal's work centers on building meaningful relationships and actively advocating for those most marginalized in our world.
Krystal has served as a communications strategist, event planner, project manager, and consultant. She currently leads as the Director of Communications and Open Community Leader at First United Methodist Church of Denton, fostering a community that celebrates and affirms all identities. Her experience spans designing websites, developing creative strategies for new programs, writing and editing publications, managing projects, and crafting compelling content and strategies for various nonprofits and artists.
A passionate advocate for justice, Krystal is driven by a commitment to centering accessibility and equity in an increasingly digital world. She excels in self-starting roles that require creative problem-solving and remains actively engaged as a champion for LGBTQIA2S+ rights, the abolition of systemic racism and economic injustice, and the end of gender-based violence.
IIn her spare time, Krystal enjoys writing music, astrology, reading novels, body inclusive fashion blogging, and spending time with her twin black cats, Nina and Withers. Krystal is an ideal candidate for any communications position as she is both a mover and a shaker, an expert in creating cultures of belonging and inclusion, and one of the few optimists left in the world. -
